When to pay for it
- It is bigger than you want to lift into a bag.
- It has been there long enough that lifting it is not the only problem.
- It is somewhere awkward: a window well, under a fence, a lot with no vehicle access.
- It is a vacant or a rental and nobody on site is going to do it.
- You would rather not dig. Michigan requires burial at least two feet down, within 24 hours.
When not to
If it is in the road. I-69, I-75, I-475, US-23 and the M-routes are MDOT's, reported to the regional office. County roads are the county road commission's. Paying privately for a carcass on a public road is money you did not need to spend.
